Hey what’s up guys!! This is Johnson for JohnsonMalaysia.com, welcome again to my video. Today, it’s a different type of food, cheap food in Mid Valley MegaMall Kuala Lumpur. This is located on the border of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya which is a satellite town. If you join one of the JohnsonMalaysia.com Kuala Lumpur tour I can tell the story of Petaling Jaya.
Mid Valley MegaMall about 100 years ago was a Malay village area. Today it is a huge shop Shopping Centre, there are two major entrances which are one is known as the north entrance beside South, east and west entrance. I’m using the North entrance. As you walk to the center court, go down the escalator to find one of the anchor Tennent, Aeon supermarket.
USD 0.60 Cent
I was interested to look at one of Japanese famous Oden meat ball styles at a kiosk located in this lower ground level. It was very reasonable only RM 2.60 that is about USD 0.60cent. If you prefer to have more posh food, you can find individual restaurants that are located on different floors. The Oden Kiosk in Mid Valley MegaMall is more Malaysian style rather than Japanese, I guess.
I do not have high expectation about this Oden kiosk but I guess it is cheap and value for your money. The Oden sold here is rather a Malaysian mixture with Thai. Mr. Nara (cook) who prepares Oden food, mentioned to me that this particular Oden kiosk offers two types of soups. One is the ordinary Oden soup and the other Tom Yum (spicy Thai soup).
How to buy
The way to buy is to pick a stick from the display, get a note, pay at the payment counter return with the payment receipt and Mr. Nara or anyone there will prepare for you.
An octopus ball which says “Must Try” I tried and I felt like a range of fish ball and not bad, ordinary taste, but we need to know I not here with high expectation but rather cheap food. I believe this is in the that category. Just fill your stomach if you’re hungry.
