Today JohnsonMalaysia.com in food tour, we are going to a lake side street food, it is called Rojak and Cendol run by Mr. Din in Taman Tasik Ampang Hilir Car Park. Mr. Din mentioned he been running for 20 years.

Rojak stall business usually manned by Indian Muslim folks like Mr. Din. The various deep fried Kuih (cake’s) gives a variety of taste, texture and chewiness. The word ‘Kuih’ comes from Hokkien Chinese and adopted into Malay vocabulary.
This pre-fried, cooked cakes or Kuih is cut to bite size topped with vegetables like cucumber and turnip, we can add steamed bean sprouts as well and finished with Rojak sauce. This sauce is a peanut based sauce with many various ingredients. JohnsonMalaysia.com friend once ran Rojak business, mentioned to him that it is a tedious process to prepare the Rojak sauce, with about 15 ingredients needed to prepare a good Rojak sauce.
If you are a seafood person than can ask for ‘Add On’ Squid or our local call it Sotong.
The shaved ice for a beverage, call Cendol. Cendol consist of corn, red bean, sticky rice, palm sugar (Gula Melaka) the most import part is the coconut milk. Coconut milk can get spoiled very easily, hence they drop a huge ice cube in the cauldron.
