The Hindu Shrine Murugan is the world tallest standing at 42.7m or 140ft. The Shrine took 3 years to build and completed in 2006 built by 30 expert Artisan from South India headed by Mr. Thiagarajan. The temple caves are going through new look renovations.
Batu Caves Temple Consecration takes place every 12 years and this year being the completion of the 12th year since the Shrine was built. If you visit now Batu Caves it will be a completely new look 2019, colourful paintings and new temples design on the ground level and also in the cave temple at 400ft from ground level and that is after you climbing 272 steps up. The artworks and sculptures are intricately finished.
When comes to the month of January / February every year Thaipusam plays an important festival that attracts almost 1 million people to this temple complex. The Batu Caves limestone caves are ancient caves according to the geologist it backdates to about 400 million years therefore the formation of the limestones itself is ancient.
